For young girls hailing from disadvantaged communities, activities such as competitive sports not only encourage them to discuss sensitive health issues but also empower them to take up leadership roles in their societies. For women, participating in team sports also enables a sense of unity that helps them be seen as champions within their communities. The Kabaddi Tournament sponsored by Aarong Dairy, a BRAC social enterprise, took place from 13-17 September 2015. It is an example of the fighting spirit that manifests in those engaged in sports. Witness the grit and enthusiasm with which the girls of Institute of Kabaddi take home the trophy in the video below!
